SO WHAT'S YOUR IDEA?  CAN YOU HELP?

So much of what we do takes place between meetings and usually involves different individuals to suit their interests.  If you don't have a copy of our newly printed Members' Handbook, request one from the Secretary, who is in charge of compiling.  It lists all contact information for all members and project leaders (and includes a handy copy of the By-Laws as well).  You will find it useful in connecting with others to help in the HHVF project of your choice.

ONGOING COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
HHVF has still more assistance programs to develop year-long.  As a member-based organization we often have to develop the ideas.  But when they happen, they work -- such as our Emergency Assistance Request Program and the Helpful Hand Bag Project.  Any member with a suggestion and/or the desire to help foster a program that would benefit our veterans should call the Director or the Activities Coordinator..

REMEMBRANCE CEREMONIES

HHVF will bring attention to and honor the sacrifices of our veterans living or deceased.  In addition to assisting the veterans in our community and having to hold fundraisers, HHVF will be there throughout the year, to mark days of remembrance such as 9/11. Veterans' Day, Pearl Harbor Day and Memorial Day.   These events are noticed by the public and made more meaningful by members and their families' attendance.

IN THE WORKS FOR 2015

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

                                                           Margaret Meade

Membership Qualifications:

Must be of voting age and have paid $10. in annual dues.  That's it.  (Please make checks payable to HHVF).  What you bring to the organization is entirely up to you.

For sure, we're serious about and dedicated to the worthy cause of helping our returning veterans deal with difficulties, but we also intend to have a  little fun doing it.

The core of our expanding membership consists of veterans and their family members, patriotic non-veterans, community activists, business leaders and college students.

As an unincorporated association with an elected executive board and open membership meetings, we encourage participation by all in our endeavors from our monthly meetings to fundraisers and other social gatherings. We ALL decide how things are done and how to best direct our efforts -- and in the process we find some great friends along the way.

This is going to "take off" and do so very soon.  There's much to do.

     Join us. It's only $10. a year.

Membership benefits beyond simple camaraderie will soon include more specific items such as purchase discounts with local merchants.
