HEART AND SOUL
Author: Augustus Clayton
The window of life is short, open your door to live...you tour is done.
Spread your wisdom, to illuminate the indifferent.
Smile and laugh, it will bring your joy to others,
to see the results of determination.
Exhaust your mind of red, white and blue...
celebrate your courage...annihilate the horror of war.
Befriend your family and friends.
Courage is not a delight...it is your soul asking for help.
Your dreams can be.
Put aside all your demons and revel in your success,
home alive...everything else will be revealed in do time.
Place your hand upon my heart...it still beats for you.
Your soul is still true...give it to
determination...the results will prepare you forever.

Why eagles have fought and died
Stars and stripes warm with pride
Remembering why eagles fight and die
love one's hearing their cries.
Writing home of eagles that died
Stars and stripes wavering with pride
Brings people together for one side
reaching out like golden tentacles to save our kind.
No matter why we have cried
We share a symbolic pride
Remembering the names of eagles
with certain pride.
Now our enemies will learn why
Our eagles soar with pride, watching
their symbolic pride in the morning sky.

Horror...courage...optic manifestations of soldiers,
tanks and bombs. I fear to dream
Hold! A dreary freeze of morning mist spinning
tight to an acoustic still.
Silence, I hear...optic freeze I cannot share.
A gasp of breath that I can see,
Memory echoes...of shadows past
Visions of darkness...I hope to bear
Smells of horror...brothers who care
Space is not a void...crowded stars I begin to see
Help I need to set me free
Hope has begun...cold eyes do not see
Life I am...pride I share...cold wind blows
I shed a tear All for a place that I share
I am a Veteran.
I have seen and done things that many will not understand.
I am a warrior and member of a team spanning the world
I have served my country proudly and now standby to serve my brothers and sisters in arms
I will never accept defeat
I will never quit
I will never leave a fallen brother or sister.
If they are hurt, I will carry them.
If I can't carry them, I will drag them
I will help them face their enemies, to include the demons from within
They are my brothers and they are my sisters
I AM A VETERAN!!
